3D printing by the blind... Hi, created a new sub-reddit to explore techniques and technology for the blind to 3D print independently... Join up if you're interested. We're using Creality Ender3 FDM printers and raspberry pis to control them. Nerdy but fun and a technology that can be very powerful. (reddit.com)

Wow this sounds awesome! What kinds of things are you planning on printing?

I’m not blind myself, but a good friend is. For ages I’ve been trying to find a 3D map for the blind, we travel a lot together and I struggle to get him to understand the geography. Do you think your group would be at all interested in designing something like this?

Currently it's just me and looking to develop a larger group. As for printing, that is up to the individual what I want us to work on is the means to print so the user can decide what they wish to print. As for maps, try https://touch-mapper.org/en/ which I believe may be of use in creating a map to print.

Great thanks for the link. I searched the web for hours and found nothing useful

I don’t have the stuff to print or the need to do so but putting a link in your post would be useful for those that want to check it out.
