I'm having a Xen stent operation done in tomorrow due to high iop. 4 months ago I had a vitrectomy and fixed scleral lens insertion, which was meant to bring the pressure down but unfor hasn't. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Xen stent and can help me figure out what is next to come of this. After the previous operation I have next to no faith in these doctors.
Thank you.

I had some sort of pressure relief done to my eye in surgery, but the surgery was mainly focused on fixing other things. It worked for a couple of years, and then I had to go back on drops. I was thinking of having a procedure done where they fix the abnormal pressure, but I’m sort of worried about ending up having an eye that dies or whatever happens if the eye has gone through too much trauma

What surgery did you have ?
That makes sense. Yeah, my eye still hasn't fully healed from the previous surgery which makes me really worried about it dying. Especially when my other eye has recently started seeing flashes.

Good luck tomorrow. I did not have this stent but another one implanted when I was in my late teens. Stents are usually quite effective. My surgery was successful in that the pressure went down - to nothing. Due to other conditions my eye basically had a pressure of near zero for about 10 years before finally healing. I had my lens removed in the process but no implant (due to those other conditions). I was effectively blind for about 3 months until I could make a new pair of glasses. Even then it was strange that with daily fluctuations in pressure my vision noticably changed.

Thank you. Wow sounds like it was bit of a ride. What other conditions did you have ?

I’m not blind and have zero experience in this procedure, but I wanted to wish you good luck and I’ll be sending good vibes. I’ve gone into radical surgeries with little faith and a lot of fear and it sucks (hip, mostly- benign bone tumor). So yeah, lots of good vibes and hopefully someone will have answers for you.

Thank you. I understand your pain there. Going in with zero faith does mentally drain you. Good luck if you have anymore operations a head.
