There isn't necessarily a way to fix it. Sometimes closing your eyes+opening them and refocusing at different distances will help. The problem is that the double vision could caused from muscles (like a lazy eye) or from some eye condition (like a brain injury).

Can you read with each eye individually? Cover one eye, assess what you can read, and concer the other eye next.
