I'm on the Fedoverse, @TheFake_VIP@linuxrocks.online. I just use the Mastodon website for my instance on my iPad. If you add the site to your home screen, it acts more like an app, with no browser controls. I've also used Tusky on my Android phone and some fantastic work has been put in to make that accessible as well.

To all blind people out there, if you're sick of Facebook and Twitter and want a privacy respecting social network that, in my experience, is full of accepting, inteligent, interlectual people, join the Fedoverse. I'd personally find an instance that isn't as popular and packed as mastodon.social, but the choice is of course yours.

Perhaps I should start up a blind/VI focused instance. Hmmm ....

If you did, I'd leave Mastodon.social in a minute. It's way too crowded for my liking, anyway. Ad, well, the Fediverse is connected, so would rather choose a small home to go to when I'm tired of all the noise.

I'm waiting on a desktop client to come out. I use Toot on IOS, but I love TW Blue. It's amazing how so few blind people have jumped on the Mastodon/fediverse train because I love it a heck of a lot more than Twitter.

That being said, I love TW Blue and OpenTween so, there ya go. :) I'll follow you soon.

Exactly. The whole point is decentralisation, joining mastodon.social kinda defeats the purpose.

I'll have to check out Toot, I haven't explored Fedoverse clients in quite some time.

In my guide, should I include Diaspora as an accessible platform? I tried it and many things were not accessible with the keyboard in FF, but a lot of other blind people are saying that Diaspora is accessible, but I'm seeing a ton of unlabeled links and buttons.

Toot is on IOS, but not Android. If you use Tusky, stick with Tusky.

I tried Diaspora quite a while ago and it wasn't accessible at all. but that was at least 1.5 years ago now, so I'll revisit it and update you if I find it accessible now.

I use Tusky on Android, but since I use an iPad for most social media activities, I've just installed Toot and it's fantastic! I'll be getting notifications now at the very least, and it's a lot easier to navigate than the Mastodon website with VoiceOver. £3.99 well spent in my book.
