What things you like to do? Hobbies? (self.Blind)
submitted by chifrij0
My wife just had a severe dip of her sight and she feels frustrated with the things she can't do know, for instance draw and write on her board, she doesn't do reddit but i do want to know how you guys do it? What hobbies you do? I deeply apologies if i sound ignorant or come disrespectful but i want to meet you guys more, that way i will be able to help her out with her frustration and be there with her when her sight will be no more.

Thanks in advance.

I go running and do judo, or at least I do when we're allowed to go out and meet people. I find a bit of physical stuff helps burn off all the pent up aggression of living in a world that also contains Donald Trump.

What about learning the guitar or some type of instrument?

Audiobooks/podcasts are awesome. Your local library gives away free checkouts on a ton of audiobooks online. If she can learn how to use discord there are people that host book listening sessions.

Movies that have audio descriptions are decent. Certainly not the same as watching them but it helps.

I love to write (or I guess type) and bake, though sometimes that requires someone with better sight than me.

Depending on her level of sight, there are many hobbies she can do. Sculpting, running, knitting etc. Quite a few sports have been adapted to be suitable for people with sight loss as well, so maybe you can look into those?

Good luck to your wife and you!

I scrapbook, hike, run, rockclimb, do picnics, study, learn languages, just bunch of stuff really. I also paint, you can actully do that without seeing and it’s still pretty fun.

Put "hobbies" in the search bar and you'll see many topics with suggestions.
