I am visually impaired, not fully blind, but when I'm gardening I prefer to dig with my hands vs a trowel if possible, because I always lose track of where I put it. There are gardening gloves that have claws in the finger tips to make digging and ripping out weeds easier.
What is the extent of her impairment?

As far as I know it started off as macular degeneration in her early teen years. When I was a kid I remember she could get around much easier then. She could even walk to the store by herself without a cane or service animal. Now she has been diagnosed with something called Stargardt. I'm not 100% sure on how it all works out because she doesn't talk about it much but it's obvious she struggles more now than ever.

My dad is blind and loves gardening as his hip was going and he couldn't bend down.
We build him raised garden beds so he could sit on side and garden we made them 600mm wide so he could reach across to other side if needed.
We also got him a hand brailler and plastic tags so he could label vege plants etc so if he felt base of plant if it did not have a tag it was a weed.

bags of ceeds with sheets of information in large print. You'd just staple the sheet to the package of ceeds.
