Kurtzweil 1000 for mac? (self.Blind)
submitted by siriuslylupin6
Okay I have a question then wasn’t expecting too ask but nice surprise.

So has anyone used k1000 for the mac? Please describe your experience. Good, bad, in between?

I used a version of Kurzweil when I was in school (I think it was during middle school). Ultimately I never found much use for it. It seems like a really powerful program if you need to scan in books or documents and do OCR, but I just didn't use it that much because I have good enough vision that I just need larger fonts.

I used the Windows version, and I think it was the 3000 version. If I remember right, the interface wasn't very intuitive and just seemed really complicated (granted I was a kid at the time so maybe it wouldn't be so bad now).

Same experience for me. I last used Kurzweil 3000 at the end of high school. I found it sometimes missed characters and was more of a hassle than just “eating the paper”. I have some useful vision and mostly just need larger fonts too.
