Anybody use spotify on the mac in any recent days? (self.Blind)
submitted by RJHand
Seen some posts on here and other places saying its not accessible, but none more recent than a year or 2 ago. Any changes?

I tried it with VoiceOver very briefly a few months ago and want impressed. I don't remember much of the experience, but it was somewhere between clunky and unusable.

I do remember the touch bar controls are unlabeled, so unless you memorize their order they're unusable.

Hi. I am not a Mac user, so my advice may just be pointless. Have you tried to find a way to add custom button labels? If it is just a matter of unlabeled buttons, then doing so might solve your problem.

That's part of the app's development. See this article:

https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/macos/touch-bar/touch-bar-overview/

I don't believe there's a way to customize the touch bar outside the options provided by the developer.

Have you tried OCR by chance?
If your on Catalina, VOCR by Chi Kim is a good app. Standalone too. I don't have spotify at the moment so can't try it but I wonder if that could be a possible solution before I get it? Since would rather not be limited to my phone if possible.
What about using it from a browser, can you even do that??

That sounds interesting. I rarely absolutely need to use VoiceOver, so I let these things slide sometimes.

I've used Spotify in a browser before. It's not as nice as a native app, but it should be as accessible as pretty much any other website.
