This is great. I tried to watch it without it, and it was really hard to follow.

i’m happy netflix has AD. it’s awesome.

Does this mean the scenes where he is vaguely doing chemistry stuff, the descriptions will tell us how to properly produce meth? Yahoo!
CloudyBeep 3 points 3y ago
Unless the writer is a trained chemist, probably not.
KingWithoutClothes 1 points 3y ago
The writer wasn't but they actually did have a well-renowned chemistry professor from the University of Oklahoma called Donna Nelson who accompanied the Breaking Bad crew throughout all five seasons and made sure the chemistry was depicted correctly and realistically, to the degree they were allowed to show it of course.

I was referring to the audio description writer, not the show's writers.

Man it's so good when they master it in 5.1.

I hope/wonder if other AMC shows will finally get audio descriptive tracks. Been holding off on The Walking Dead all this time. I’m still waiting for HBO to do… something.

A couple anime have AD. Devilman Crybaby, which is Wild and I absolutely love. Also, The cute romantic comedy/drama Hi-Score Girl. That sort of show usually is not my cup of tea but streetfighter and fighting games is core to the show itself and being a huge fan of streetfighter, and growing up in arcades… Seeing the way it’s depicted here gave me all sorts of feels..

Audio description would be nice for anime but there are certain shows or genres that I think are totally enjoyable without AD.

I feel like Jojo’s bizarre adventure, for instance. In which every attack, it’s effects come with their own monologue. LOL. Much less detective work is required when there are constant expository dumps. Not a complaint.

I might have mentioned it to you (or maybe it was someone else), but Mad Men, another AMC show, has AD. If you want to watch it, do so quickly because it's being removed in the next few months in a few countries. Netflix also commissioned AD for The Killing, which was another AMC show, but that's no longer available.

I've seen some information to suggest that HBO Max will have some audio described content.

Wait. Mad Men has AD? Is that available in the US?
CloudyBeep 3 points 3y ago
Yes to both questions. But only until June 10 I think.
SightlessBastard 2 points 3y ago
I see. Thanks. I guess, I will have to hurry up then.

Wow! That is in deed great news. I watched season 1 once. But after a few episodes into season 2, I gave up. But this is just awesome! And the best is, the descriptive track is, like the rest of the show, in 5.1.

Clone wars was described on netflix, but it's gone now. Weirdly Disney Plus, which seems even describes even old old disney movies has it, but not described! Also the Dragon Prince is described, and if you haven't seen it, you absolutely have to. I found it to be one of the best all ages animated shows I've seen in a very, very long time. Also Disenchanted, and a lot of the other more mature animated shows on Netflix are described. It seems like only anime isn't described (in English anyway.) Frustrating since a lot of the time it IS described in Japanese.

Oh wow. What perfect timing for this post! My wife literally just asked me tonight if I wanted to watch it. Because I have lots on Netflix to watch that already is described I said no. It's not that I won't watch stuff with AD, I just find I get more out of things that do. So thanks for posting this.
