Dating myself here, but back in the mid-late 90s, while in elementary school, I had one of their four-track cassette tape player/recorder combo portable/Walkman style models.
Even though it was supposed to be used for school purposes, took it everywhere with me.
Loved that thing.

I use a slate and stylous along with the 3 by 5 sheet notebooks to have Braille on hand.
