submitted by pandalaur
Hey guys so i want to start playing again after I lost a good part of my vision but I have a little curiosity, as a visually impaired person a controller can help me more on gaming then a mouse or keyboard setup? thanks in advance and sorry for my terrible english.

What do you normally play with? and what games? I would imagine a controller can be helpful for some games (such as fighting games), whereas a mouse and keyboard would be better for others (such as real time strategy). First person shooters can go either way, depending on skill and preference.

I want to play soom GTA V using Auto Aim features, maybe soom Overwatch because the hitmarkers, Mortal Kombat, Kill la Kill IF, Rocket League, Devil May Cry, Need For Speed, Jump Force, Soul Calibur Vi, And Soom Clasics like GTA Vice City, San Andreas, Old Need For Speed game, this is the stuff I usually Play

I would use a controller for most of those, regardless of vision.

What are the advantages of a controller vs a mouse and keyboard for a visually impaired person?

Like I said, for the games you listed, most people would prefer a controller. It's much nicer for find accelerator and, brake and steering input on driving games and for free movement in third person games in general.

Specifically for visually impaired people? It might be easier to find the buttons if you're not used to touch typing, I suppose.

Yes, you can't go wrong with an Xbox controller.
