Hiya,
I am posting here since I am co-writing a script about a LGBT pair with one of the women losing her vision as a result of a homophobic attack. We are basing it around a real life incident:
$1 however we have adapted it so that one of the characters develops Post-Traumatic Visual Loss and is recovering from the recent attack. This idea was added by this story:
$1. We are hoping that we can get to learn your similar stories or emotions that you want to express.
A few key ideas and motifs we have used are wind-chimes as we have discovered some people use them as auditory guides within the house:
$1. We have also looked into having children with a visually impaired mother however we want to gain a better understanding.
We have managed to summarise the idea behind the drama to the blind character trying to maintain her independence vs her partner battling a sense of guilt of not being able to protect her. We are now approaching your community because we would rather have true testimonials rather than base it off our assumptions.
If you have any experience similar, that would be greatly appreciated however we welcome any other ideas that you want represented. We are open to having a chat about our script in further detail to make sure we get the depiction accurate and make any amendments to any of our errors.
