Need a bit of guidance during this part of my life and if anyone knows any stories about blind/low vision people navigating life that would be helpful

Not very relatable but definitely inspirational. I really enjoyed reading his account of climbing Mount Everest as a blind man. His name is Eric some thing. I’m forgetting his last name, but you can find this with a little googling!

(I copied this from Goodreads but I believe this is the book you are talking about!)

I enjoyed the book "Thunder Dog" by Michael Hinkson. Is this the life story of a man who lives with blindness who managed to survive 911.

My personal favorite is “By Faith not By Sight”. It is the life story of Scott Macintyre, a blind musical prodigy and how he navigates life with blindness as a college student studying abroad while also battling kidney failure. Of course, the musical genius part isn’t relatable, but he delved into various challenges like moving to a new place and establishing relationships.

There is also a list of nonfiction books about people who have experienced blindness on GoodReads.

I hope that this helps.

This is not necessarily what you are looking for, but I still recommend *Art of Choosing* by Sheena Iyengar. She was born with Retinits Pigmentosa and she was completely blind by the age of sixteen.

While the book itself is not an autobiography per se, there are few anecdotes from her own life as a blind person.

And it's a thought provking book on it's own right.
