I lost my sight when I was 14. I can visualize things pretty well as far as learning a space or a piece of audio equipment and then being able to recall it in my mind as some sort of visual construct. What bothers me though is that while this ability has become easier over time, I am forgetting things that I actually saw in real life. I can remember general things like this is a car, this is a train, this is a horse, this is a piano, this is the print alphabet etc. Recalling specific things though is becoming pretty hard these days. If I try to think of my parents, relatives, places, movies, video games etc, a lot of them just aren't there anymore. I find this pretty depressing but it is what it is I suppose.

Thank you so much for answering my question. Although I’m not blind I lost my grandparents and have lost the memory’s of their faces and just being with them. I do have pictures but not of them the way I remember them. I’m sorry you lost those memories.
