i am trying to teach someone i knew a while back about phones. she is blind , i learned the speech text mode in Samsung and got comfortable with it. i tried to teach her simple moves like how to make a swipe with two fingers but she has a hard time grasping these things, i tried holding her hand to show her how to make the move and tried to explain thing in details but it seems fruitless .any help here is appreciated .

Do they have a learning disability or struggle with fine motor skills? It's possible they might need more specialized help than someone untrained can offer or an alternative input method using external hardware.

sadly i can't get her an instructor at the moment

Are you using Voice Assistant or TalkBack? If you are using Voice Assistant it better if you install Android Accessibility Suite that contains TalkBack.
TalkBack has more beginner friendly gestures. For example, using TalkBack, instead of having to swipe with two finger to go to the next or previous page or scroll a list, you can swipe right then immediately left with one finger for next and other way around for previous.
Hope it helps.

I will download the suite and give it a try.
Thank you

Hi, you are not a trainer, so I'd suggest linking her to a professional if possible. Simple things like hand under hand guidance are very useful; grabing her hands to teach her how to do the gesters is not what an adaptive technology instructor would do.

At the moment we can't get a trainer.
Is there some guide on the internet that may help me ?
Thank you.

I’m confused on the issue. Are they confused on what to do, or are they unable to preform the gestures successfully? Or is a matter of them not remembering the information your teaching them?
this_is_salem [OP]2 points3y ago
yes, the problem is with the gestures
Thank you

I honestly don't know, I never had anyone teach me touch screen devices. When I got my first, it was like 15 minutes of WTF is this, and then I took off. I don't get why it's difficult for some.

i don't understand the problem too but it somehow exists.
