Spreading with a spoon on toast / bread is superior to a knife (self.Blind)
submitted by RJHand
So this morning I was grabbing food cause well, life.
I'm sure we all have had frustrations with a knife at one point or another, because once whatever your spreading gets on your hand its hard to feel where it is on the bread vs where its not, for me anyway. So I said hell I'll just grab a spoon and try that. Worked pretty good. Just felt for the centre with my free hand and dropped it in the middle (jam in my case) and then spread it around a bit as you would normally. I've heard of people, blind or not doing this but never tried it.
For those who find knives difficult or annoying to deal with this may be something to try. Or maybe using both, I guess depending on what you're spreading that may work better.
Thoughts?

I've only ever used butter knives.

I have been using a spoon for years to put things like peanut butter, nutella, almond butter, jam, or cream cheese on toast and bagels etc. It works out far better than a butter knife in my opinion.

Yeah I find that too. Might make the block of butter into a weird shape when you cut bits of it to spread since its not flat like a knife but ah well.
