Youth Leadership for the blind or partially sighted? (self.Blind)
submitted by Carnegie89
Is there a need or interest for Youth Leadership in the blind community? If there is, I'm going to organize one.

I'm currently organizing a Youth Leadership Workshop but this one restricted to my geographic area.

What do you mean by youth leadership group? I have experience being a scout team leader as a blind person but that’s it haha

It's awesome that you do that.

I'm a public speaker with Toastmasters. I'm organizing a workshop for high school students. The objective is to help them gain the skills necessary to lead in group or for a cause and gain the confidence to speak their idea in a professional manner.

Kinda depends what youth leadership means. Sometimes I mentor young people who have just hit sight loss, and I've had three padawan learners so far and it is great. The thing is I'm not interested in people being average. They need to have five times the ambition of anyone else just to stay in the race, and I don't want them to just stay in the race, I don't want to have them give up on having a good life, and if they have to put a million times the effort in, so be it. I'm interested in anything that helps them figure out how to do that. It won't be for everyone. There will be limits to what people can do depending where they are personally. But yes. Sounds great. Just depends on the specifics. I guess, what did you have in mind?
