If it's a little over a mile can't you walk? Or is it a dangerous area for pedestrians?

At the end of last year I was involved with a young lady who had missed a bunch of school to going blind, and wanted to go back. This was in the UK and she ended up just being in a cab every day because the nearby schools didn't seem that interested.

Not totally the same situation I can help I absolutely will. Is this a new situation or something that's continuing?

This can depend on several things; like what part of the country you live in, and what safety measures the school is taking if any. Would you be able to walk them to school yourself, or is there someone else they could catch a ride with?

I would think that by that age, he could walk or ride a bike? Mine was walking that distance starting in 6th grade.

That said, I'm not even sure schools in the US will/should be open this fall.
