Free bus pass?

A different perspective on the world?

Tbh it's more of a cultural appreciation for your disability. There isnt much great about the blindness itself.

Automatic entitlement to disabled parking badge in the UK.

Reduced price TV licence to watch BBC TV programmes.

Often free entry for a companion to theatres and other events.

Sometimes free or reduced entry to museums and art galleries for the few that charge in the UK.

Free bus travel for you and a companion.

"Reasonable adjustments" to your working conditions.

Hearing what emojis really mean through VoiceOver or your other text-to-speech app.

Having something describe to you all the exciting things they can see around you.

Actually, not so much perks as meagre compensations,

That doesn't make any sense. If you are blind you can walk just fine. I think the United States does this as well, and I know some blind people who use the spots, and I have never understood their reasoning.

This is for people who are severely sight impaired so they need a guide to help them find their way and accompany them.

The 2018 consultation helps explain this

https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/blue-badge-disabled-parking-scheme-eligibility-review/blue-badge-scheme-consultation-on-eligibility

The blue badge is for people who have "very considerable difficulty when walking" and not just "very considerable difficulty walking" and "includes those whose condition means there is a significant safety risk when they are outside the vehicle."

Speaking as someone who gets to guide a blind person, anything that can help simplify the process of getting them to where they need be, is gratefully received.

Thanks for the info. I live in the United States, so I am sure our rules are different. I can say for me, I will never get an accessible parking thing because I don't think it is right for me to take that spot from someone who has trouble walking. That said, if a blind person has a disability that impairs their ability to walk, then by all means they should take advantage of that spot.

Lower electricity bill.
No lease on a car.
I don't have to see trump's stupid face, so if he comes on I can just mute the tv.
I can get on the bus and subway for free.
I can trip idiots and they never know if I actually meant to or not.
If I play it up enough I can get out of amusement park ride lines, heh.
Probably others as well.
