Coding.

I’ll go beyond this, and say *marketable* computer skills. Coding by itself can be incredibly broad, and just knowing coding is likely going to make it difficult to get a job. Find a Niche, and something that’s comparable with your vision situation.

That is what I do, but so far only for a very niche situation. It's been enough for now, but at some point I will either need to expand what I do with it or figure out something to do outside the home.

Also, it does cause me a lot of problems because I am all hunched over trying to read the scree. I guess you could technically do it with a reader, but I don't know how well it would work that way.

There are many blind programmers who don't use braille, so it can definitely be done.

Cool. I should honestly start trying screen readers myself. I try to do everything with my sight, still, but at some point I am going to have to just realize that it's better for my body to not always be determined to be using it for every task.

What is it that you do?
Why don't you try using windows magnifier or you can buy a bigger screen.

Well, I could try magnifier. I really should, I guess. I don't use it anywhere. I do have my fonts really big and resolution set low most of the time. I just get in habits of doing things one way and hate change. But I have bad back, neck, head issues now, so need to figure some new solutions out. Also, I am getting a new monitor, but it's tough to know how big to get because even if it's big I still have to get close and it may end up with me needing to move my head too far from side to side.

Anyway, I make apps/addons for a forum software where they have a marketplace for third parties to add them for sale. I actually haven't done much work at all this eyar, though. Luckily one customer wanted me to make a custom one for him and he wanted so much that it kept me busy for years adding new things to it.

If I hadn't stumbled into doing this, I'd have been in bad shape, money-wise...

It sucks for a bit, but I’d really recommend making yourself use Magnifier for a few days—once you’re used to it, it just becomes an extension of how you use the computer.

Pro-Tip: If you’re using a real mouse, Ctrl+Alt and the Scroll Wheel zooms in and out, Windows & +/- will do the same.

Navigation. Even now, for a lot of jobs, if you can't get there, you can't do it.
