How would you describe color red to a blind person? (self.Blind)

You really can't describe colours to someone who is completely blind from birth/young age. Saying stuff like "red is hot, it's the colour of blood" etc, won't make "red" appear in someone's brain all of a sudden.

The closest you can do is describe it how I did above but it won't make sense to someone who it totally blind.

- blood ir red
- red is hot
- fire is red
- passion is a red emotion
- anger is a red emotion
- love is red
- Clifford the big red dog is red
- sunsets are red
- it's one of the first colours in a rainbow

All of this needs visual reference, otherwise it doesn't make sense. Therefore, you cannot REALLY describe a colour to someone who is completely blind.

What i do is usually tell them what other item has that color.
