Jobs I can do on IPhone and with a Bluetooth keyboard? (self.Blind)
submitted by Jimenez230
I want to help provide for my family. I have no laptop and can not afford one right now. I’m starting school again but with current world issues this in itself is a work in progress. I am completely blind and use voiceover. Are there any jobs I can do? Typing jobs? Proofreading jobs? Even catigorizing phone calls? Is there anything I can do from my phone and home? I’d really appreciate any advice and help.

What skills do you have?

I’m from the United States. I have a Texas Workforce counselor, but we are focusing on school right now and even that is a struggle with Covid. I was just wondering if there was anything I could do in the time being?

Do you know about Computers For The Blind? They offer quality computers at a significantly reduced cost.

Are you in the transition or adult program with TWC?

A lot of call centre jobs have moved to working from home so you can try applying for those.

Thank you, I really appreciate your help. As for skills I’m majoring in English and have written a book I’m about to publish in the near future. I have worked in fast food before once but my parents and I don’t feel comfortable with me working out of home. I’ve also worked with animals before.

Does course creation potentially interest you?

I work for an assistive technology training and support vendor called Commtech as a training course creator. These courses, offered under the name Accessivision, can be text, audio or video, or they can be a hybrid. Right now we have courses on various assistive and mainstream technology usage, but they can be on just about any subject matter as long as the courses are presented in an accessible format. Here's the application page.

I am happy to answer any and all questions you may have, so let me know if you have any questions about this position.

Have a great day and best of luck with starting school up again, here's hoping that goes well.

Idealy you should be able to work with your TWC counciler. Yes, the focus is your education, but employment is important too, and it can become part of your Individualized Employment Plan.
