How can i find local support when I am also hearing impaired? (self.Blind)
submitted by miragerain
I went to the blind center's support group but couldn't hear anyone. They were unable to fund a transcriber for me, and their suggestion of using Live Transcribe didn't work.

Have you found the program called I Can Connect?
miragerain [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Yes, I've used their services. But they say they can't help in this situation since they're geared for long-distance communication.

Im deaf and blind too. I tend to avoid group gatherings for communication issues. 121 is better. If you know deafblind manual touch signing could you not find a interpreter?

I don't think there are tactile signing services where I live. The Blind and Deaf center representatives didn't suggest it when I was asking how I could communicate.
