Need Testers for an Audio Game for the Visually Impaired (self.Blind)
submitted by bottomlessvitaminC
Sorry if this sub is not the place for this type of content. The mods are free to delete this topic if so.

Anyway, I've been developing a non-profit audio game as a my first personal game development project catered for the visually impaired and would appreciate it if anyone here knows of a visually impaired friend or family who is willing to playtest it and do a quick survey for me. If desired, having assistants/companions is welcome to walk them through the menus. Non visually impaired players are also welcome to test and take the survey.

Also, I'm afraid that the instructions might be too confusing so I'll make sure to answer any questions here.

Game: $1

Survey: $1

Thanks to anyone who tests the game and takes the survey, and take care!

I just played it a couple of times and it was pretty fun. I couldn't install it though so I had to have my mom help. She stuck around to help me with the game too. I'm completely blind.

Big thanks to you and your mom! I'm really glad you thought it was fun!

I would strongly suggest signing up for and posting this in the dev room on https://forum.audiogames.net which is the main hub for English speaking audio gamers on the internet. You'll probably get allot more responses there, though some crossover does exist with r/blind for sure.
Before I try this out, I'd suggest editing your DB Link. The last part of it "dl=0" can be changed to "dl=1" in order to allow direct onclick downloads with the link, and some screen reader users have a pretty hard time with the DB website. That will just make it a bit more likely that you'll get more testers.

Thank you very much for pointing me to the right direction! I'll share it there.

I was confused as to what the some of the survey takers meant when they mentioned that installation was difficult. Thank you for suggesting the edit! I was not aware of that.

Checking it out for my thirteen year old nephew who was born blind.

Thank you very much! I'd love to hear what he thinks about it and would make improvements based on them!

Also, you might want to see if you can contact National Foundation of the Blind
