I was looking at the new W-4 form, and it's really different from the old one. On the old one, I knew you could put an allowance for being blind, to account for the higher standard deduction. I don't see any reference to this on the new one. The IRS has an estimator that accounts for it, but I honestly can't get that to translate to the form, itself. My best guess is to put the difference between the standard deduction and the blind standard deduction into the deduction line, based on the page 3 deduction worksheet, but it's still not clear. I feel like i'm overlooking something--anyone else figure this out?
Note: I've also tried doing a search
UPDATE: Someone on r/tax said that if not itemizing, my guess was correct--just put the difference between the standard deduction and the blind standard deduction into the deductions line. This could be a different amount for each filing status, so I won't get into actual numbers. They were also surprised it wasn't listed on the instructions.
