What devices do you need (self.Blind)
submitted by NaNYq
So for my IB final product, I’ve been looking at the visually impaired community to find a solution for. I’ve been going through multiple problems I can explore but most either already have a solution or the design isn’t feasible. (When i say visually impaired i mean either total loss of vision or partial)
How you can help me is either by just letting me know about some struggles either you deal with or any other visually impaired person you may know. These could range from money to technological challenges so essentially challenges that other devices in the market cannot fulfil very well.
Thank you for reading, I hope to get good advice from this!

One of the main stumbling blocks I face is reading things online. Trying to follow scrolling text almost always leaves me with a headache and eye fatigue. There's the issue of small print and less-accessible fonts as well, but I have yet to find a way around the issue of scrolling other than to transfer articles to my e-reader, which is a bit of a convoluted process and doesn't always work. If there were some plugin or app that would allow me to flip through extracted text like turning pages rather then scrolling through it, I think I'd have an easier time of reading web content.

IB final product? What class is this for, exactly?
NaNYq [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Ah, design technology so just a lot of product designing and robotics. IB though stands for international baccalaureate, its the board our school follows.

Ah, I know the program I was just curious about the class. I'm in my second year of IB as well. We don't have design tech here

Ah yikes, DP 2 isn’t fun. Design is pretty interesting I suppose but it falls under the science category which doesn’t make that much sense honestly.
