Have you tried Hadley School for the Blind online workshops?

$1

As far as I can tell they are US based but seem to offer services worldwide.

Are you in the United States? If so, state services may be able to help with getting you access to people who can teach you braille.
I have been a braille instructor in several capacities and would be happy to give you a rundown on the basics.
There are specific books made to teach the braille code. Different states use different versions. I personally love Iowa’s version; it focuses on touch discrimination and the patterns built into the braille code.

The blind bookstore is great online!!

I’m trying the UEB app and so far it’s very good. I definitely do feel like I’m missing out without the raised elements though.

Yeah that’s my issue. I want to learn my touch rather than sight

I don't know many sighted braille readers who can use touch with any great speed.
And you'd need either a braille display or embosser to have any sort of regular access to braille in any quantity...
Mysterybanjo 1 points 2y ago
Well I’m not fully sighted, my vision is deteriorating so I want to learn. I have a couple of books to learn as I go

uebonline.org is probably the best online resource.

I’d like to know too, if anyone responds to this. I know Braille but I’d like to start learning Grade 2.

don't bother. learn access tech instead.
BlakeBlues 7 points 2y ago
Braille isn't dead. Less used, yes, but not dead. It is over shadowed by access technology but still important

?
ContraMia 1 points 2y ago
Negative. Reading and listening are two very different skills.

as someone who has learned 4 languages to degree level apart from English without the use of Braille, I agree. That does not, however, contradict my point.
