I’m not 100% blind but my experience is mostly physical. I do see fractals and some distortions through my bad eyes, but from the descriptions my boyfriend has given me of his experiences, my hallucinations are completely different.
Example: on LSD, he says the world around him changed, like our bathroom floor distorted to look like a brain and the curtain on our back door being pulled by the fan started to look like the ocean. My hallucinations are more like colors and fractal like patterns that form “inside” my eyes.
I get much stronger sensations in my body than he has described. I get a sensation of being stretched or turning into spaghetti. Music completely rearranges in my head to the point that it can sound reversed or totally unrecognizable. Whereas, for my BF, music just sounds enhanced as in, more reverb, each instrument is more individually noticeable, the song seems to last longer.
I know it’s all anecdotal comparisons, but I hope this helped :)

To quote a famous science fiction spaceship engineer, if I could see, I'd be seeing stars.
