Have you ever felt someone's face just to familiarize yourself with their features?(self.Blind)

Partially sighted here but I haven't seen a single blind person do that outside of movies.

Hell no. Who does that?
And I'm not even convinced it'd work that well. Everyone (well most people) have two eyes a nose and a mouth, my fingers aren't magic.

no. My partner and I do wonder how we'd ID each other if one of us were in some sort of major accident, but we've both concluded that face-feeling just isn't the way. Perhaps the most overused blind trope out there, alas.

No and neither would I ever

no, I'm really not into touching people.

I have done it to my significant other, but would never do it to any other person. It is weird

If I was blind I feel like that'd be the only person I would do it to as well.
the-cat15131 points2y ago
no. Nao. Never

I went through a stage where I did that. Nowadays, its only something I'd do to my child, or a partner.
Alaisha1 points2y ago
In fact, I really hate that stereotype in books and movies, and shows, and I don't know any other blind person who has either. Blah.
Alaisha1 points2y ago
No I don't feel faces.
hopesthoughts1 points2y ago
Only once when I was little, and someone basically said that I needed to do it.
bradley221 points2y ago
No, unless I was going out with them but even then I’d probably find it to be strange.
dysconfigurated1 points2y ago
Yes, I did it one time. I was about 17 and I think people were trying to get us together. She had a lot of pimples. It was kind of strange. Not sure you can get an accurate representation of a visually interpreted thing such as a face through simply feeling it. Sure, you can find out if someone has a crooked nose or unusually sized eyes,; large ears or small forehead, jutting chin and/or double chin. But without having an understanding of what is generally interpreted as visually appealing, it may not be very revealing to touch a face. You can feel if it is oily or dirty, smooth or rough, wellmaintained or poorly groomed, etc. And if you know what culture appreciates as beauty, you can evaluate the cheek bones and proportions of the face and make determinations about these things. If you don’t, you can only guess.

No, and I will never do that because I don't see much point. A friend touched my face when he wanted to see, if I smiled, which amused me a lot.
