I have a pair of Aftershokz and they're bone conduction. I like them in situations where I may need to hear something from my phone, but also need to hear the rest of the world around me for safety reasons, e.g. listening to walking directions from Google Maps.
I also have a pair of COWIN E7 Pro active noise canceling headphones, for when I DON"T want to hear the rest of the world around me, like when I'm on a call for work. I found them to be a good balance of price vs. performance.

I actually came here to recommend the same headphones despite not being blind because of the benefits codeplaysleep mentioned. I like these headphones because they don't block out other sound. I can ride a bike and wear them and not feel totally unsafe. I wear them constantly and just forget I have them on entirely. I could see them potentially being useful to a blind person who might need to hear what's going on around them to be safe and generally be aware of their environment. I find the sound quality to be good, but not excellent. I'm not an audiophile so they are easily good enough for me. They also have a mic in them that makes phone calls easy. It's actually really cool. They can be difficult to hear well in noisy environments and they come with ear plugs, but I have my own better ear plugs that I use if I want to block out noise. Also I find the battery life is about a day and you could say my usage would probably be on the excessive side.
I also have a pair of Audio technica Ath M50s that have great sound quality, but none of the above features with being able to hear your environment. Just normal headphones.

In my experience, Aftershokz headphones tend to have better music quality than voice quality.

I guess I view voice quality as only ever needing to be good enough. I read a lot of audio books and I find they are fine for that, but making out the words becomes significantly harder in even a mildly noisy environment like a cafeteria.

I also recommend Aftershokz. They don’t block your hearing, the sound quality is good, and they’re the first set of headphones of any kind that I can wear comfortably for hours. Several local friends bought them after I showed them off, including an older man who has lost a little hearing, and who uses them to watch TV while his spouse watches at normal volume.

But they're very small, so if you drop them, you may not be able to find them again without stepping on them.

From what I’ve heard, the bass and mid and treble aren’t good on those headphones and they cost a lot too.
I have headphones but don’t know their make.

I have had great results with wireless headphones from Bose, Sony, and Anker, both over the ear bluetooth headphones and wireless earbuds. A cheaper brand that sounded pretty good to me was jLab. I don't do many voice calls with my earbuds or headphones but I can say that all those brands sounded quite good with music, audio books, and Netflix etc with my iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
I loved my Cambridge Audio true wireless earbuds but I don't believe they had a microphone so wouldn't be relevant for her needs from what you've said.

I too recommend the Aftershokz. I currently have the Aeropex. They’re not a real good solution for phone calls, but for all day/every day use for either music or just interacting with your phone etc. They’re my preferred choice. Also, at least for me, I find that I can walk around the house or wherever and work out on my treadmill and not have my ears get all hot. I’m one of those people that if my ears are covered up or blocked, I find myself easily disoriented. Another thing to consider is that with bone conduction, you’re giving your eardrums a break. I spent all day on my computer and with my screen reader as well as on my phone making and receiving phone calls for work, the Aeropex spare me wear and tear. Something I’ve been more cognizant of this as I’ve gotten older. I also have a Plantronics 5200 earpiece for work. It has four microphones and a boom mic. It’s a single earpiece so it does leave one ear open for when you’re out and about. I know Sony just put out their new over the year ANC headphones, but I’m waiting to see what Apple is going to put forth to make a decision on what higher end headphones for more serious music listening to get.

Have you heard of raycon ear buds that are half the price of regular ear buds?

Why did this get downvoted? Usually I don’t care for upvotes but gave this post one to remove the downvote.
I’ve looked on their sight and night get myself a pare for listening to podcasts.

I was wondering the same thing lol. Maybe it's because they said they are half off the priceof other ear buds and that's part of their marketing slogan. Still though not worth the downvotes.
