Could my friend reach some journalists about the first tabletop game specially designed for visually impaired people? (self.Blind)
submitted by localancers
Hi all,
My friend created the first tabletop (board) game designed for children, parents & visually impaired people. Now he needs some media support to reach the right people.
The game is combining tactility, magnetic mechanics, and sound. All this in 70 chips (poker-like sized, but more squarish with a dominoes-like abstract graphics). The set is versatile, washable, and compact. Dozens of different games could be played with one set. And also players will be able to submit and rank new games on the online site.
A Kickstarter campaign is coming in a few weeks' time, so he wants to reach people who actually could benefit from the innovation.
Any ideas who to contact?

Here are some companies and people who have a big social media presence online. Not sure if it’ll help, but it’s worth a try. I’d be happy to review it and post it on social media too!

Contact some blind social media “influencers” (all trying to break the stigma tho): @raegreen135 @anastasia_k_p @mollyburkeooffical @blindnewworld

Definitely try contacting non profits like AFB, Lighthouse International, Beter Vision for Children, Blind Abilites, etc

Maybe your friend can do some kind of collab with the Two Blind Brothers company or No Barriers

If you want to just soley go the journalist route, then you‘ll probably have to send them little blurb on what it is to get an interview, or the game for them to review.

What do you mean by first?

How does your friend’s game differ from products like the ones on this web page?
