Need some help with TalkBack (self.Blind)
submitted by [deleted]
I am someone who has very poor vision and did some searching and found out about TalkBack. I have a Google phone pixel if that matters. I need to know how to turn it off without having to go back into the settings menu. If anyone knows how to do that I would appreciate the help. Thank you

try holding both volume buttons down for about three seconds. If it doesn't work, you may have to enable the shortcut in settings.

Thankfully, it's now 1 second. Also, finally, you can tel the Google Assistant on the Pixel, and I believe only the Pixel, to "turn on TalkBack".

There are some other accessibility features as well, in case you want to just read text sometimes, such as Select to Speak.

This is the correct answer. Holding both volume buttons for 3 seconds is the default accessibility shortcut. Mind you, it doesn't work on all Android phones, but if OP's got a Pixel then it should be good. I didn't even have to set the shortcut for a family member's Pixel 3a. It just worked out of the box.

Android has an accessibility shortcut option you can enable to toggle one or multiple accessibility features. On my phone it is power + volume up, but I don't know if that's universal. Your device will tell you when you enable the option.
