I want to do something special for my boss! (self.Blind)
submitted by Scarletsunflowers
Hello everyone! I have been working very closely with my boss lately, and he and I have become very close. He started going blind two years ago and has been completely sightless since November 2019. I care about him so much. He is the most wonderful person I’ve ever met and he is such an inspiration to me. He often opens up to me about his disability, and between little jokes and real heartfelt honesty, I have started to understand the blind community so much more.

His birthday is coming up and I really want to do something special for him. He told me for years he loved Japanese gardening and had a passion for Bonsai trees. He told me that he has been struggling with accepting he can’t enjoy those things like he used to. He has made such an amazing impact on my life and I want to show him that on his birthday. I normally would write a nice card but I want to be creative. I am desperate for ideas on how to make this happen. I would LOVE any advice or ideas.

Thank you!!!

When you're blind, it's all about dem feels. :)

Seriously, think in those terms. Maybe a nice spa day with a soothing massage, tickets to an amusement park to ride the rollercoasters, bungee jumping, those skydiving simulations that blow ait upwards and simulate you skydiving, horseback riding, parasailing, or I don't know... think something like that.

At least that's my two cents.

Hmm, not sure how much time you have, but I wonder what is keeping him from doing the gardening? Maybe some gardening tools could work, though I admit I don't know this particular type of gardening.
