Recommendations?? (self.Blind)

Any recommendations for sites that sell caps, t-shirts, etc. that say things like "Vision Impairment is a Spectrum" or something similar? There was a shop on Etsy called EyeSwear, but it looks like it's on a break. I want something that I can throw on in situations where my vision impairment isn't necessarily apparent, but it would be helpful for other people to be alerted to. I have an ID cane, but I like my hands to be free when they can be. I just moved to a new neighborhood, so I'm already paranoid that people are waving to me and I'm offending them by (not seeing them and) not waving back. haha

Not sure if this helps, with my mom the big dark sunglasses are usually enough of a tip for other people. Not sure if these are required for you, but for my mom, they give people a heads up to get out of the way. For more crowded places, we try to use the cane as people generally respect it and give her a bigger bubble.

If you can’t find somewhere selling what you need you can always have it printed to say what you want. Websites like cafepress do this and don’t require bulk orders if I remember right. https://www.cafepress.ca/make/design-your-own

The Partially sighted society has badges, bracelets maybe even necklaces which come in a whole variety of levels of blindness and deafness.

They are bright yellow so they stand out, I like the badge myself

Also if you’re not in the U.K. there are plenty on Etsy, amazon etc

Could you provide a link? I can't find them on their website. This sort of thing would be perfect for me.

This is late, but $1 just started a collection of blind t-shirts and pins.

Not a shirt, but still pretty useful would be an arm band that says "visual impairment" or has the blind logo on it or something. I have one similar to the ones you can find on $1 that says "visually impaired" on it that I slip on when I go on runs or hiking and I don’t want to use a cane but I also want to let people around me know what’s up.

I think the San Francisco Lighthouse for the Blind store, Adaptations, sells some of that stuff. I know they have buttons that say Visually Impaired, but I'm not sure what else they have. I think they've started shipping during the shutdown, too. $1
