I'm trying to learn Mandarin via Duolingo. I started over a year ago and it's going OK, but as I'm also working on improving my Braille fluency, I'm interested in Chinese braille.
Since Chinese Braille is so radically different from Chinese print, and since there are competing systems with political/ideological baggage associated with them, I'm finding it hard to find a learning resource to help 2nd language learners.
If there are any Chinese speakers on here who read braille, I'd like your input on what I should do.

My braille prof reads a little Mandarin braille. Where she taught, Hong Kong, was mostly Unified English Braille (UEB) from what she said. There is also Cantonese braille. I have studied Japanese braille minimally. Wish I had contacts for you

I'm a Japanese braille user and speaker here. I've tried learning Chinese before through braille. Holy hell, it's insanely difficult. Tones are not marked, and everything is basically spelled like it would be in latin. It is so different from any written form of Chinese, and honestly, it is such a badly designed system because in this highly tonal language, not being able to write tones can cause so much misunderstanding. The only people who would probably succeed with Chinese braille would be native Chinese speakers, but even then it seems like it's still difficult. I do know some resources, but they're all in chinese only. Other resources are made for sighed people unfortunately

Taiwanese Braille requires tone marks. It’s more ore less one to one with bopomofo. 2 cell Chinese Braille also expresses tone. The problem is I don't know whether I can find 2nd language learning materials in either system (or regular PRC braille for that matter).

Project Gutenberg has books on Braille in other languages, but I’m not sure if they have what you’re looking for.
Here’s a link for “Mainland Chinese Braille”: http://self.gutenberg.org/articles/Mainland_Chinese_Braille
