Oh my gosh the snake one is my greatest fear as a blind person! I mean I live in the city so there is like no chance at all, but the a year I lived in Florida, I was scared everyday of this.

Bless your husband haha!!

I live in Australia, my house is full of large spiders I have a hard time seeing. At least they are food for the geckos that also live in the house.

Make sure you keep in touch with him so that you won’t be losing him. :)

My cornea specialist retired last year after being my doc since I was 3 days old. I'm 37. I had quite a bit of notice, but I procrastinated on doing research to pick my next one, and then 2 months after he retired, I had an emergency. So I had to pick one real quick. New doc introduced me to a new treatment that has been surprisingly helpful. So, my point is, it's definitely jarring to have to switch doctors after so long, but sometimes changing it up can work out.

Well the good news is that I've met/been exampled by/like the new doctor and it's at the same practice. I'm not really worried about that part, it's just weird to think of never seeing him again.

My kitchen floor would have been full of holes from my gun. I ,*really* hate snakes. My grandpa used to tell stories about the snakes that would crawl in bed with him to get warm, when he was a kid.

I dread the day my retina specialist will retire! And as someone who lives alone, I live in fear of the insects and creatures I can’t see.

I’m in TX. Rattlers are one reason I’m glad I can shoot at sound.

I get what you’re saying and don’t disagree. You’re following one of the rules of gun safety, always know your target and what’s behind it. In that case you had sighted help to follow that rule.

The smallest property I own is 10 Acres and I don’t shoot on that one nearly as much as I do my 100 Acre property. I carry a revolver for coyotes, wild hogs, and snakes on the larger property because of where it is. When hunting or target shooting I always have sighted assistance because I have 0 sight although I can hit a target with a pistol if I tape a fire alarm or something to it giving me sound to aim at.

I am glad you avoided rat snake - I think that is a snake and yikes . I also think over 40
years of your life is a very long time and you didn't have closure. I am not sure if you can reach out , like a thank you good luck note , or simply do something extra nice for yourself. It's a loss and a rite of passage and life marker for you
