Discrimination is still widespread—the employment rate is very low, and guide dogs are still often refused entry into vehicles and buildings.


Braille is not available on hotel room doors, but all new elevators verbally announce the floor.

In short, it's probably like every other developed country in the Western world.

I live in Brisbane and people are generally really nice and want to help. Our public transport isn’t awful, and we have a Guide Dogs and a Vision Australia centre at either ends of Brisbane. Melbourne is also pretty good on the public transport front
