Ios 14 (self.Blind)
submitted by Odd-Night-2604
Hello :) I hope everyone is doing great!!!
I wanted to say that I really love the features of voiceover in ios 14 and how it now describes pictures on the web, text within pictures, and tries to make apps more accessible by Reading the screen. For example, with the reddit app... it doesn’t read whether the vote is up or down, but now it says may be up vote or may be down vote. I find that really helpful.
I’m curious to hear your experiences with iOS 14 with voiceover
Have a great day or night wherever you may be 😊

Hi there I would suggest you to use dystopia is the most accessible reddit client

Have you tried using the Apollo App for Reddit? Genuine question. Apollo is an Reddit app built following the design guidelines from Apple, and, more importantly, using the default building blocks from iOS, which have the best accessibility features possible.

I’m sighted and only use Apollo, but I know how to use VoiceOver from my iOS app development days, and from my limited testing right here, it seems that Apollo has had some thought put on the accessibility side.

The app’s subreddit is pretty active and there are tons of features all the time, I’m sure accessibility bug reports wouldn’t go unnoticed.

That’s so cool that you used to develop apps for ios, and it’s also pretty awesome that you know how to use voiceover

It’s good I had to go in and disable the beep sound for text and images though as it was really annoying

Haha yeah I did the same thing

Excitedly waiting for the iPhone 12 to drop so I can finally switch. I'm sick of Google's shenanigans

Well, after all I’ve heard so far, voiceover reacts a bit sluggish now. That’s why I haven’t updated yet.

In my opinion, voiceover isn’t too bad
SightlessBastard 2 points 2y ago
Apparently, it is only sluggish, when you use the English language. Also, adding the language a second time, fixes it.

Glad you figured it out! :) ,
