Survey about music players apps (self.Blind)
submitted by pinkybunny23
Hello! We are a team of college students from Argentina.

At this moment we are creating an application to listen to music focused on visually impaired people

We understand that music applications are not very accessible for visually impaired, but we lack information regarding blind people, for this reason, we're still not sure which group of people to target. Your answer would help us a lot!

This is the link: $1

Also, this is the link in spanish if someone prefers that: $1

Thank you very much.

Spottify is pretty accessible, I've never had a problem with it. Amazon music can be dodgy, apple music is fine and I've never encountered or had reason to encounter the others.

Thanks for your opinion.

I'm doing this for people like my mom who can't use a screen reader in her phone. I'm not doing this for money or something like that so I don't think I'm wasting my time.
I have already 3 people in the same situation as my mom and I was hoping to meet more but it's really rare to find because without a screen reader, you can't use your phone to read reddit, facebook, etc. plus we are in quarantine, so, it's really hard to meet people in real life as well.
I want to explain more detailed but since english isn't my first language I'm not sure if I'm expressing correctly. I don't want to sound rude or something like that, jus trying to explain why I'm doing this and why is important to me.

With all due respect, not being able to use a screen reader is a temporary limitation. And if she and the other blind people you know refuse to learn, smart speakers may be an option.

I agree that smart speakers might help! unfortunately, as far as I know they are not that common and accesible in Argentina though, a custom app is far more accesible for those who cant afford and may have it hard to use a screen reader, besides OP's targetting more people with this than her mom alone

A physical device with buttons, such as the Victor Reader Stream or an iPod Shuffle may work best for your mother.
