Unfortunately, the open-source community doesn't really care about us, so for now you've basically got three choices: learn LaTeX, buy an Apple product with access to the iWork suite, or pony up for MS Office.

Don't say this, the fact is they are trying to get the general population first because of investors or community growth has a bigger impact. They're has been a lot of open source systems recently that been moving towards accessibility. The best way to get it moving forward is joining those communities as well. I'll give you a perfect example - Joomla which is a CMS tool which didn't have a large accessibility system is now more accessible because of multiple VI people joining the beta tester group.

Office 365 is what I use, and it works great. I haven't had much luck with the alternatives.

I would be very surprised if programs like open office or LibreOffice weren't accessible, you know?
BenandGracie 2 points 2y ago
They are, but the accessibility is nowhere near the level of Office 365.

How in depth of things do you need it to do? Have you tried Google’s Suite of products with accessibility turned on?

Also came here to suggest Google. It meets my needs nicely with Sheets, Docs, even Slides!
