You are trying to fix a problem that doesn't need fixing.

1. Yes, I order quite a bit, both food and items from amazon. I usually go to the amazon website, which I access with the orca screen reader. Groceries I order with an iOS app that belongs to my local grocery chain.

2. Most often they ring and I receive it directly. They might leave it with a neighbour, sometimes. Then, because my neighbours know me, they will usually bring it to me later, or place it in front of my door, where I spot it easily. If all this fails, and I was expecting a package, I would look through my postbox for the delivery slip and try to read it with an OCR app. In the very worst case this is hand-written. At this point I would ask one of my sighted friends, though this never happens.

3. Answered above I think. If you mean how do I spot it then, well, I just kind of walk into the package in front of my door lol.

4. Yes, things have changed. Delivery people no longer require signatures and, of course, everyone is kind of used to keeping distance. When I receive a package, I usually open the door and then politely stand some meters away, letting the delivery person simply place the package on the ground. I feel completely safe.

5. Most regularly probably groceries. Then assorted items from amazon. I very rarely order food like pizza etc.

I have to admit that the whole package delivery complex doesn't seem super problematic to me, so I'd be curious what you guys can improve. I hope this helps!

Hey guys, best of luck with your project hope it’s going well
I am a blind man and I do order from Amazon pretty steadily every couple weeks, I actually have a smart grill on its way to my place right now which I’m super excited for. I use the Amazon app which is voiceover accessible meaning I can just do it all from my iPhone which is amazingly simple for me
Usually you’ll get a notification from the Amazon app notifying you the item has been delivered but in this case my grill is being delivered by Canada Post which means I will not get a notification I will just see the day it will most likely arrive
So I’ll just have to keep on checking around the estimated delivery day or hopefully the person will ring the doorbell, it seems like it’s a 50-50 chance that they will ring or not.
Actually COVID-19 has not affected the way I receive deliveries at all. I am lucky enough to live in a townhouse and thus have a front door with a little porch where the item can be dropped off directly in front of my door and sheltered by a few feet of roofing. What I will do to see if it’s there is feel with my feet along the couple feet of porch I have.

Thank you guys for answering and for all the detail! From what I gather you guys actually don't really see the package delivery process as an issue which is awesome. I'm going to keep the survey up for a little longer just to see if I can get a few more opinions/perspectives. If you are just now seeing this or if you already answered, I was wondering if you guys could recommend another task or issue that could definitely be improved in your opinion? It doesn't necessarily need to be a problem, but simply something that you wish could be a little better. We are still open to any input and are willing to change or topic. Thanks!
