Zoom Accessibility User Survey (self.Blind)
submitted by bigowl7301
We are a group of Clemson University students researching potential improvements for the Zoom video platform. Our research will hopefully be able to drive improvements to the platform that can benefit those with auditory and visual impairments. The link to the survey is attached if any of you want to take part in the survey. It's quite short and should take you under 5 minutes. Thanks for the help!

The survey permissions are set improperly. Nobody can access it.

Sorry about that, it should be fixed now. Thank you so much for helping out.

This happens allot actually, I feel like the standard should be to open the survey link in a private/incognito window before sending it out. :D

Aside from the lack of foresight to vet your survey link's visibility initially, are you planning to compensate for participants filling out the survey? There's a ton of student surveys that often don't lead to anything concrete. Can you list the expected concrete results? How are you working to "drive improvements"? Are you working directly with Zoom for them to ultimately integrate the recommendations informed by these survey results?

I really do wish we could do more. But sadly we are just undergrads with zero funding trying to get some research for a research paper that we are writing for a class. We will be sharing our final paper with our student accessibly services and our campus IT department who have direct lines of communication with zoom. So who knows maybe zoom will be able to implement something based on our researcher.

I'm sorry to say it but this just isn't a very good survey.
You have allot of questions where yes/no alone isn't really enough and a middle ground option would be better especially for question 3 of part 1, you ask twice in the same way if we're def or hard of hearing but mean it differently each time, serious vision loss doesn't seem to be taken into account at all for the suggested Zoom improvements question and captioning is already a feature, it would be useful to have an "I don't know" option for the favorite client/work or school questions, and it seems kinda odd for the teacher question to be asked last.
