Working in the college or university setting blind? (self.Blind)
submitted by silverleaf57
Wondering if anyone on here works in the college or university setting in The disability service office, instructional design, accessibility, or in career counseling. these are the areas that I am interested in working in and would like to talk to people about their experiences.

I am VI, Glaucoma, and work in higher ed. I am not in any of those areas though. I am in IT support in various positions for many years. Could I be of any assistance?

Objectively, I think higher education is a great place to work if you are blind. They usually already know how to accommodate (esp if it's large), to the point that where I live, the campus is the most accessible place around! The protections are also pretty good because it is usually a large employer and often there are even unions.
