To make a long story short I have RP (legally blind) and wondering if this is something that has been discussed. I have 5 years experience in karate and 2 years experience in Judo so fairly new. I was thinking a combination of having a really good Jab for probing and measuring distance. Using the front leg teep or sidekick to probe and manage the distance as well... otherwise using the left hook to close the distance and clinch for knees, elbows, headbutts or Judo throws. I was also thinking just keeping a high guard and mixing faints with some head movement to make up for the fact that it would be hard to see incoming shots. Just throwing ideas out there but please share any strategies, thoughts or ideas. Thanks.

Hello!
Someone totally blind here.
Personally I would focus on the grappling arts, as you would have fewer disadvantages.
Judo and bjj I think (I practice bjj)
I hope it helps you.

I’d take it slow at first and work at a pace till you are comfortable. I’m completely blind in one eye and my other has very limited field of vision but about 2 months ago I started long boarding. I took it slow and worked at it till I was comfortable to move on. I’m currently now at a level of confidence and comfortability that I ride it 3 miles to work.

I have nothing to contribute but the very idea of low-vision fighting is fascinating to me. Based on my previous Judo experience I would think once you have them on the ground it doesn't much matter who can see what since you can feel everything, but the process of getting them to ground is perhaps the hard part.

Right maybe a game plan centered around clinching or getting the body lock to execute a ko uchi or o uchi gari.
