Hi - I’m not sure what kind of business you’re planning, but these stories might help:

Giorgio Taverniti runs and owns a successful pizzeria in Toronto: http://blindnewworld.org/blog/working_through_sight_loss_while_pursuing_a_passion_for_pizza/

Jeremiah Fox owns and runs his own coffee roasting business: http://blindnewworld.org/blog/coffee-community-and-overcoming-challenges/

Giorgio is awesome! And the pizza is also great, too!

Blind business owner here. If you are ready to share, what type of business are you looking to open? Opening a business is always an exciting time.

There are many many business owners around the country so there will be people to lean on for advice, etc. For me, the biggest challenges are dealing with inaccessible websites or other technologies, but there are usually workarounds for these. Good luck in your future endeavors, and feel free to PM.

At this stage all I can share is that I have an invention my lawyers are saying is going to change the world. I've spoken to a retired inventor in the field and he said that ivesolved a massive global issue and told me to prepare for upcoming challenges and life changing impact. If all goes to plan and parent issued I can release and start a business. Ive already got lawyers lining up to work for me. And I need to learn how I ask blind person can run it efficiently. Will I get help with understanding taxes? Managing staff? Sourcing materials? Investment? Will my blindness hinder me in any way? I've got so much to do. And wanted to find others like me to find how they do it.

Has your blindness hindered you in any way yet, in your life so far? If not,, then you have nothing to fear.

Not so much. Only lack of help and support has let me down thus far.

You must be living in a very rural area, like me? Have you reached out to the National Federation of the Blind? They always have people and resources for help us.
