ETI Eloquence for Android (self.Blind)
submitted by ladymunch
Hi Folks!
A quick question for you all. A while ago I heard that Google had removed the ETI Eloquence TTS app by Code Factory from the Play store. Does anyone know if this is still the case or if it's back now?
It's the only one I use on Android with my BrailleNote Touch Plus.
I'm debating getting a regular old Android Tablet so I can play with it without Keysoft interfering with my experience of it.
Cheers!

It's not on the play store but you can still install it on most Android devices.

All you need to do is sideload the APK. With that said, getting the APK is a whole can of worms on its own.

Really useful to know, thanks. That gives me hope for my sanity lol. With Eloquence set to about 50% speed I can get through two or three novels a day, I don’t know where I’d be without it.

What the hell? Two or three novels a day!?

You blind people never cease to amaze me sometimes.

I don't see it on the Play store any more.
Can you sideload on the Touch?

I don’t know. I already have it on the touch but think I am going to sell it so hopefully I can get the APK file to put it onto whatever Android tablet I end up getting. Thank you!

I think blindhelp.net has it.

Don't use that one, random files from the internet are like STDs. sure, it might be fun while you're getting it, while you're doing it, but you don't know where it's been.

I've been using this IBM eloquence for about a year now with no issues. The only issue is sometimes when restarting NVDA the language might switch to Spanish but that's easy enough to fix.

It's not infected my computer at all so i'd say it's safe.

Wait... ???

Are you talking about the program from the French organization?
bradley22 2 points 2y ago
I've not heard of that. I'm talking about IBM eloquence, you know the speech symth that comes with JAWS? You can read about it and download it here, https://blindhelp.net/software/eloquence
