Yes. Your boyfriend should learn to use a screen reader, which reads the text out loud. There's a learning curve, but if he's reading slowly it's worth it. I recommend the TextAloud program for Windows, your boyfriend can select text and it will read it aloud for him. On Mac OS there is a built-in function for reading selected text aloud, though I forget what it's called, but you can find it in the Universal Access menu.

I struggled to read on the computer using Zoom for many years and eventually had to learn to use a screen reader. My only regret was not learning to use them earlier.
