Accessible gaming (self.Blind)
submitted by monkshood_wolfsbane
Hey, just a quick question. Is anyone aware of accessible games, either on PC or Xbox that blind people can play alongside sighted people? Yes, audio games are great and I enjoyed playing them but I really would like to start gaming alongside my sighted friends and family. Thanks.

1-2-Switch is accessible on the Nintendo Switch. A lot of fun audio and tactile/motion/vibration based games that everyone can play together. Google Home and Alexa have a few kinds of games available for everyone, from Trivia Crack, SongQuiz, Akinator, and Escape the Room. RS Games Client is accessible to both blind people and users who can navigate through audio alone on the PC.

I have a Youtube channel where I talk a lot about accessibility, as well as gaming. I have an entire playlist of games I'm able to play, it's not the most up to date. Maybe it can give you some ideas on where to start. Feel free to PM me with any questions you have:

Hey, I’ve only just came back to look at the responses to my post. I’ve just checked out your channel and I really like it, I’ve dropped your subscribe because your videos are very informative.

You mentioned PC and Xbox, but for a gaming experience that really goes back to when you may have been cited and Raible to play action games, you should look at the last of us part two with all of its accessibility features. I used to have a site and played video games quite a lot, now I don’t have any site and playing the last of us part two was an incredible experience. It’s a PlayStation game, and it’s exclusive

Hi, sorry for the incredibly late response. I’ve just come back to check out the responses to my post. It depends on the type of game that you like, I’m still trying to discover myself if I’m honest. A lot of them cost money so it depends on if you’re happy to do that, but they are usually worth the money. The blindfold games are good, I haven’t played those in a few years because they got a bit tedious and if I’m honest some of those aren’t really worth the money. But it would be worth checking those out, there is a good 30 or so games that they produced. Also, audio wizards is brilliant, doing it right, 2 steps, A blind legend, blindscape, circus Masters revenge. I’m sure there’s a few more out there that I just haven’t discovered yet. Also, even though they’re not audio games, Westopia is brilliant, and so is RS games which is accessible on the PC, or Mac, but also on phone although you have to pay money after a free trial on your phone whereas on a computer it’s all free.
