First, let me say I appreciate your taste in games. I particularly appreciate hearing 13 Sentinals, Aegis Rim announced so many times. That game is probably my game of the year. Yes, even more than the masterfully accessible Last of us 2. But that brings me to one dire point.

All these accessibility enhancements are indeed fantastic, and I really do appreciate you taking the time to make this video, as it clarified a lot. While I feel many of these features should have been implimented long ago (at least a couple versions after Text-to-speech came out, it's better late than never. That said, all this is still somewhat irrelevant if you can't read in-game text. Take the Aformentioned 13 Sentinals for instance. There are so many pieces of text-based lore to uncover. All very fascinating, all very useful for making sense of this super twisty story. The only way I was able to read those though is by playing it on the PS Remote Play app on my PC and using the NVDA screen reader to capture the text on screen. That's more than I had a couple years ago, but it's still a rather time-consuming couple of hoops to jump through. What we really need is a way to do OCR like this with the Playstation's Screen reader. I mean ideally we get the Last of Us 2 system where in-game documents are read when you access them. But I appreciate not all developers will care to do that. If Sony would implement an OCR system similar to NVDA then that would at least allow for some increased accessibility. YOU could press the PS button and something like the Square button together to initialize it, navigate with the analog sticks or D-pad and exit with circle. That will truely make the PS5 next level. I love in-game lore, but I find it so hard to engage with the way it is now. To say nothing of in-game text that isn't voice acted. I play a lot of Japanese RPGS and they don't always have full voice acting.

I really wish I could have Sony's ear on this. I just know something like this could make things better.

Speaking as one of the blind people outside of the US, this is a massive thing and far from “nothing new”. I’m really happy about this. Thanks for sharing this video.

And yes, Sony, I will eventually forgive you for your ignorance and oversight (pun intended) with the PS4 TTS. Eventually.

What’s the point of getting a PS5 if you can’t see the graphics?

There are many games that blind people can play. The last of us part two is a very accessible games for blind people. I am totally blind and I have that game and I enjoy playing! I also enjoy playing fighting games like Mortal Kombat, streetfighter, and samurai showdown.
Blind people can play video games!
Video games are for everyone. Not just those with sight!

Does controller has the similar awesome vibration different levels of feedback depending what happens on the screen on PS5 like on XBox? I tried gaming on XBox and i loved how much info i actually got only from the vibrations there are so many types, levels, intensity and patterns it's so subtile and tactile I wonder if PS has the same thing or it's XBox exclusive?
