Is there any way to get a version of the Twitch chat program, Chatty that works with JAWS? (self.Blind)
submitted by grinchnight14
I really wanted to tell one of my favorite YouTubers who also streams on Twitch, Noel Miller, just how much I love his content and that it's gotten me through a lot of tough times.

I made a Twitch account, but then found out I have to instal a thing called Chatty (not sure if I'm even spelling it right) to use the chat feature.

So I found a downloadable copy, but it didn't work with JAWS at all.

Like everything was blank, and it just wasn't useable.

I really hope I can get help, cause well for one, I wanna thank Noel for everything, and 2, if I ever ddecide to use Twitch to stream, I'd like to use the chat to talk with my fans too.

Speaking as a very occasional streamer and watcher, I don’t believe you need an external program, unless that particular streamer is running their chat outside of twitch. There is an inbuilt chat which is accessible, even if a bit chatty with everyone’s emoji’s in their names and such like.

I couldn't find anything there, like no edit boxes or anything. Does that mean he's running his stream a different way?

I’ve not got a computer I can use to hand, so I’m going on memory. I believe it might be collapsed. I think the button to expand it might be the last element on the stream page. It’s labelled with NVDA, but I confess I haven’t tested with Jaws. Give it a try

Thanks, now to wait for Noel to stream so I can try it out. And of course it'll be fun to watch him too, he's always funny
